The summit From resort 28.6 kilometers ~ 40 minutes drive Doi Inthanon has a unique combination of plant and bird life, coupled with distinctive weather patterns. The weather is cool all year-round on Doi Inthanon, particular at its peak of 2,565 meters covers 1,005 square kilometers and is located between Amphoe Chomthong ,Amphoe sanpatong and Amphoe Mae Chaem , the highest mountain in Thailand. The name for the King’s stupa ‘Napamathaneedon’ means ‘the stupa that houses the great Buddhist relics’. The name for the Qureen’s stupa ‘Napaponphumsiri’ means ‘divine power from the high sky to the earth’. The king’s stupa was built as a dedication to honor him, while the queen’s stupa was built later to commemorate her birthday.

From resort 5 kilometers~ 15 minutes drive Wat Pra Buddha Ern, In Mae Chaem, Chang Kerng sub-district, is a most unusual temple. The buildings are built on an island in the centre of a square, literate block lined pond. This inundated area is called Utokasima, to distinguish it from an earthen temple surround, or Khanthasima, although the meaning is the same. Built at about the start of the Ratanakosin Era, over 200 years ago, this remarkable temple is registered by the Fine Arts Department. Apart from the temple in the pool, there is an old viharn with some fine murals. Sadly the pigments are fading with time, but some of the paintings retain good clarity and definition.

Most of the villagers in Tambon Tapaa are skilled in this beautiful handloom technique. The unique style of weaving produces sarongs that are available in a number of elegant designs, and which are remarkably cheap. These garments make unusual and affordable souvenirs. When the flowers fade, the seeds are collected and made into insecticides.
